Beauty of Joseon's Relief Sun and U.S. Day Dew Sunscreen are different formulas. Relief Sun also has a separate label rename, explained below.

The two product identities
| Product and market | Exact identity to check |
| Korean listing Beauty of Joseon / 조선미녀 |
맑은쌀선크림 : 쌀추출물+나이아신아마이드 (SPF 50+ PA++++) 50 mL in the Korean retailer's supplier-registered product disclosure. The brand's current English name is Relief Sun : Rice + Niacinamide (SPF50+ PA++++). Compare the actual carton and ingredient panel. |
| U.S. listing Beauty of Joseon |
Day Dew Sunscreen 50 mL / 1.69 fl. oz.; labelled broad-spectrum SPF 50. The brand identifies it as made for the U.S. market. Its site states an 80-minute water-resistance claim. |
The listed filters are different
The brand's current Relief Sun English page identifies these four filters:
- Ethylhexyl Triazone
- Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate
- Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone
- Methylene Bis-benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol
Shinsegae Duty Free's Korean disclosure for 맑은쌀선크림50ml (reference no. 8809782555508) lists the same four filter ingredients in Korean. This corroborates the named Korean listing; it does not certify every market, batch or similarly named sunscreen.
Day Dew's U.S. page instead separates active from inactive ingredients. Its declared actives are avobenzone 3.0%, homosalate 7.0%, octisalate 5.0% and octocrylene 5.0%. These different ingredient lists support treating Day Dew as a distinct formula, rather than Relief Sun in an English-language tube. Percentages here are label facts, not a ranking of filter quality.
What changed within Relief Sun?
Relief Sun's official FAQ explains that the Probiotics-to-Niacinamide wording is a global labelling refresh. The brand says its formula, ingredients and size remain unchanged, and that old and updated packaging may coexist during the transition. This statement concerns Relief Sun's rename; it does not make Day Dew the same product.
An older screenshot can therefore require two checks: whether it shows an earlier Relief Sun label, and whether the shop is offering that product or a different sunscreen. Do not decide from the shared brand logo, a beige tube or the number 50 alone.
Read the warnings on the product you actually buy
Relief Sun's English directions call for generous, even application as the final skincare step and reapplication at least every two hours. Its safety notes direct readers to a water-resistant sunscreen for swimming or sweating. Do not transfer Day Dew's water-resistance wording onto Relief Sun.
The Korean retailer's precautions cover unusual reactions during use or after sunlight exposure, avoiding wounded areas, keeping the product away from children and direct sunlight, and closing its cap after use. Its disclosure says to consult a medical professional for the stated reactions. Check the complete Korean package wording.
The official U.S. retailer's Day Dew listing states external use only, avoidance of eye contact, keeping it away from children, and stopping use and consulting a physician if discomfort or sensitivity occurs. This summary does not replace the full warnings and directions on your package.
The FDA's consumer guide explains that water resistance is labelled for a defined period, not waterproof protection, and that directions vary by product form. Read the current Drug Facts panel on a U.S. package, including its application, reapplication, age and storage instructions. Do not use this shopping comparison to calculate extra hours in the sun.
A clear request to show in the shop
Save the exact product name, market, net quantity, SPF wording and readable back-label photo. Ask the seller to identify any mismatch before paying, especially when buying a requested replacement. Our product-matching guide provides a reusable checklist; our date-label guide covers the separate manufacturing and after-opening markings.
